Happy Birthday Marilyn

Happy Birthday Marilyn
This is the woman that started my love for vintage.
I remember I was probably about 10 or 11 and I saw a framed picture of her down at Venice beach.
It was the one above in that dreamy petticoat just sitting on a chair. No shoes, no jewelry, just her.
I would stare at the image day in and day out. I felt as though she was so mysterious, so wise, so experienced.
I still to this day adore this woman. The more I get to know her the more I admire her.
She was smart, kind and very intelligent.
She loved to read and didn't have many possessions.
She was really a lot different than the glamorous persona they wanted you to believe.
My favorite photos of her are the ones where she isn't posing.
Where she's just being...
Today she would have been 89... and I bet she would have been FABULOUS.
